Deepening Your Contemplative Practice – November 1 to November 5, 2017

During this retreat, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your life and to deepen your connection with the healing power of the inner refuge. Engaging the practices of body [the five tsa lung exercises and the nine breathings] and speech [the five warrior syllables], you will be guided to recognize, host, and clear obstacles to resting in your natural mind. To support clear inward attention, portions of the retreat will be in silence. Join us at Pendle Hill for this opportunity to immerse yourself in meditation practice and to benefit from the collective presence of others.

Instruction in connecting with the inner refuge, the nine breathings of purification, the five tsa lung exercises, and the five warrior syllables will be given at the retreat. Many, but not all meditation sessions will be guided.

While this retreat is open to all, we encourage those new to the practices to consider receiving private instruction or coming to a group class or short retreat at Contemplative Arts prior to the November retreat. Please contact Gabriel or Marcy directly to explore what best suits your needs.

Deepening Your Contemplative Practice will begin with meditation at 4:30 p.m.on Wednesday November 1st, and end after lunch at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5th.

All meals are provided by Pendle Hill and are included in the retreat fee, which varies based on your choice of lodging. For those of you familiar with Pendle Hill, the retreat will take place in Brinton House, which provides a simple, spacious, and warm environment for our meditation practice.

The size of the retreat will be limited. Entering into retreat is a precious opportunity and we encourage you to take advantage of residing at Pendle Hill for the duration of Deepening Your Contemplative Practice. Commuter options are available for those with concerns at home.

The early registration period ends on September 19, 2017. Registrations (including payment) received before September 19, 2017 qualify for the listed discounts for the three options: single room, shared room, and commuting to the retreat. The 3 Doors 9 Month On-Line Compassion Project

Marcy and I are pleased and excited to announce Open Registration for the 3 Doors On-line Compassion Project to begin in late September of this year.

Over the past few years Marcy and I have received many emails and Facebook comments of support for our programs from friends living at a distance. They often contain an expression of disappointment at not being able to take one of our meditation classes or retreats due to location. This was especially true with our recent Compassion Project programs in our Contemplative Arts Meditation Studio.

Finally, with the support of live video conferencing and virtual resource rooms, we are excited to be offering our 9-Month Compassion Project in online format - now everyone can attend.

This interactive online program fits into busy work schedules and is structured with monthly teachings that are supported by guided small group practice/discussion sessions. We can accept up to 60 people.

Please share this opportunity with anyone you know around the globe who might be interested in learning Tibetan meditation methods that support compassionate action and create healthier everyday patterns of body, speech/energy/emotion, and mind.

A full description of our first on-line program, including class dates, the meditation practices introduced each month, small group discussion/practice groups, a comprehensive audio and video resource room, and private Facebook group can be found by following the link below. And again, please share this link with anyone in your personal network interested in self-compassion.

Saturday/Sunday Meditation Retreats with Gabriel and Marcy: The Healing Power of Contemplation

Through meditation we connect with our essential nature: unbounded spaciousness, infinite awareness, and genuine warmth of positive, healing qualities. In this workshop, through the support of guided meditations, you can directly experience this nature and begin to harness the great healing power of non-conceptual awareness. Opportunity will be given to reflect upon your life, to bring to mind situations in which you may find disquieting or uncomfortable. As you bring naked observation to places you habitually move away from or try to figure out conceptually and instead connect more deeply with spacious awareness, the healing warmth of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity naturally arise.
